Swamp Movies - 1931 In 1931, Fonville bought an old boat for $25 and named it "The Pintail". He traveled through the bayous and swamps of south Louisiana. Here, with his 16mm movie camera, he made a film, "The Cruise of the Pintail". He showed for ten cents admission in Fort Worth Schools. In a move Huck Finn would have been proud of, Fonville charged his crew of 2 for the privilege of going along.
