Davis with his band - 1948 Louisiana's singing governor, famous for his song "You Are My Sunshine", and his two terms in office. Davis is credited with many accomplishments, one being the drivers license system in Louisiana. His driver's license number was #1. Davis was born in 1899 in a sharecropper's cabin in north Louisiana. He died in 2000, living in 3 different centuries. |
